Perlite is ideal for insulating low temperature applications (- 4°C down to -100°C) and cryogenic applications (lower than -100°C, such as vessels used for the transportation or storage of very cold liquids).

The major advantages of expanded perlite in cryogenics and are the following:

  • Low thermal conductivity (0.04-0.06 W/m.K at 24°C)
  • Free flowing
  • Non-settling
  • Non-combustible
